Experimental Methods of Physics (Etzwiler)
(aeEMP)
This course requires an enrollment key
Teacher: Angie Etzwiler |
Goals And Objectives: Physics is sometimes defined as the study of energy, energy transfers and energy interactions, but physics is really the study of every day happenings. We’ll be looking at how physical principles and concepts can be applied to driving, sports, rollercoasters, rainbows and lots of other stuff we’re all familiar with.
During this course, students will: 1) Become familiar with some of the major concepts of mechanics, waves and electromagnetism. 2) Gain experience in using those concepts to explain, predict and solve problems involving everyday experiences. 3) Gain experience in using and applying basic algebra. 4) Gather data, analyze data and draw conclusions based on their data. 5) Become familiar with the use of various measuring devices for data gathering. 6) Become familiar with how concepts learned can be applied to traditional and non-traditional occupations. |
